Traffic delays downtown starting Saturday

Motorists are being advised of delays starting Saturday in downtown Grande Prairie, so crews can install temporary traffic lights.

According to the city, “both 100 Street and 102 Street at the intersections of 102 Avenue will be reduced to one lane of northbound and southbound traffic.”

The lights will go up on 100 and 102 Streets and the lane closures will be in place until May 14th.

The installations are part of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project and needed for future traffic detours this summer.

The city says traffic signal timing changes “will be implemented at a later date throughout the City in order to accommodate the relocation of traffic.”
