Charges laid in weekend shooting incident
RCMP have laid 11 charges against a 28-year-old man after a shotgun was fired in the parking lot of Grande Prairie’s Silver Crest Lodge Saturday morning.
The counts against Tyler Ness include careless use of a firearm, discharge a firearm, two counts of uttering threats, and resist a police officer.
He made his first court appearance today.
RCMP were called to the Silver Crest Saturday around 7:30 a.m. after reports of a man with a firearm. They heard a shot when they arrived. It was later learned the suspect had fired a shotgun into a vehicle he had stolen. This same suspect was also involved in an earlier incident where another vehicle had a window smashed.
Police had been looking for that vehicle, but it has since been located.
