May 16, 2018 | 5:28 PM

A man charged after a 2015 child pornography arrest in Grande Prairie has been given an eight-year jail sentence.

Alberta Justice says the man, who was 32-years-old at the time of his arrest, pleaded guilty to charges of sexual interference, incest, and making child pornography in Edmonton Court of Queen’s Bench May 7.

The court handed him a 6-year sentence on the first charge, another two years on the second to run consecutively, and six years on the third that will be concurrent with the other sentences.

A number of other charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference, and inviting sexual touching were withdrawn.

He was set to stand trial April 30 through May 11.

Grande Prairie RCMP and ALERT arrested him in April 2015.

A publication ban prohibits the identification of the complainant. Everything GP will not be naming the man sentenced in this case, also to protect the complainant’s identity.
