Wildfire danger at High, Fire Advisory still in place

May 26, 2018 | 7:48 AM

The wildfire danger for the Grande Prairie Forest Area is High. We did receive a bit of rain, but very high winds and dry standing grass are still concerns.

Residents and visitors to the Grande Prairie Forest Area are urged to be extra cautious with any burning at this time.

There is still a fire advisory in place for our region. With the fire advisory, no new fire permits will be issued. Current permits remain valid, and safe campfires are still allowed at this time.

The wildfire at Saskatoon Island Provincial Park is now extinguished.  Trails at the park reopened at 5 p.m. Friday.
