Grande Prairie RCMP has arrested a 19-year-old female after she posted a threat online.

According to a media release from police, on Monday, May  7, officers received reports that Morgan Cullen posted a threat that she was going to “shoot up her school”. After the post was widely viewed by police agencies in Canada and the United States, RCMP located Cullen in the Clairmont area. She was arrested without incident and is facing charges of Uttering Threats.

Police say that Cullen was not registered to any school at the time of the post and she did not threaten a specific school. They add that they are “confident that there is no risk to the public, or schools, at this time”.

The teen will appear in court on July 25, 2018.

Police caution that any threats of violence are taken extremely serious.
