Clerk shot during robbery in Rycroft, suspects sought

Jun 1, 2018 | 2:51 PM

RCMP are looking for two suspects after a long-barrelled rifle was fired and a gas station clerk was shot in Rycroft.

Police are looking for a man and a woman, both in their early 20’s. The man has black or brown hair and was wearing a black t-shirt with a white image on it and dark blue jeans at the time of the incident. He was also wearing dark sneakers with white trim.

The female has darker blonde hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a pink hoodie, dark sweatpants with white lettering as well as grey sneakers with green trim.

At around 2 a.m. today, police were called to the gas station. After investigating, officers found that the woman pointed the firearm at the victim while the man removed cash from the register. The two suspects fled the scene in a late model black Ford F-150 with chrome grille and bumper.

RCMP are asking the public to look at the surveillance footage screenshots and if you can identify these suspects please contact police. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous. People are told not to approach them and if spotted, call 9-1-1.

If you have information on this crime please contact the Spirit River RCMP at 780-864-3533 or if you wish to remain anonymous contact Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The gas station clerk suffered non-life threatening injuries and is recovering in hospital, according to RCMP.
