Jun 5, 2018 | 10:16 AM

A 19-year-old man from Berwyn faces a string of charges following back to back days of reported crimes in small communities northeast of Grande Prairie.

Peace Regional RCMP were notified of a speeding ATV and motor vehicle near Marie Reine June 1st.

The ATV was located in a field which led officers to another field where they saw the vehicle speeding across the field.

During a traffic stop it was determined the vehicle had been stolen and as Mounties approached the vehicle, they say the passenger got into the driver’s seat and took off and ended up rolling in a ditch.

Two people were arrested including Tommy Lance Harrington who was charged with:

•           1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000,

•           1 count of Flight from a Police Officer

•           1 count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified

He was released from custody and RCMP arrested him again the next day.

On the second, RCMP were notified of the location of a side by side and firearm stolen from Girouxyille.

More reports came in of the UTV in Northern Sunrise County, describing the driver pulling on vehicle door handles.

RCMP attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful and at one point the side by side was driven into the door of a police vehicle before taking off into the Kaufman Hill area.

Mounties found the UTV after it rolled and saw the driver run away.  Area residents found the suspect hiding under an RV where he was arrested.

Tommy Lance Harrington was charged with;

•           1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000,

•           1 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

•           2 counts of Flight from a Police Officer

•           1 count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

•           1 count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified

He was scheduled to be in court Monday.
