UPDATE: Fire at Grande Prairie apartment complex

Jun 6, 2018 | 6:02 PM

June 7: Fire crews were called to an apartment building in Ranchlands Wednesday late afternoon.

Just before 5:30 p.m. flames and smoke could be seen spewing from a window of the main floor suite.

Firefighters were able to get in and make sure everyone was out and distinguish the flames before they spread further.

Everyone made it out safely and there are no reports of injuries.

Witnesses say the fire started in the kitchen but a full investigation will be conducted before that can be confirmed.

At this time, the fire department would also like to remind drivers to not drive over fire hoses.
