Highway 2 study being conducted

Jun 11, 2018 | 6:51 AM

The public is invited to give their feedback on potential improvements to Highway 2, from just North of Grande Prairie to North of Sexsmith between Highways 43 and 59.

“We are looking at the overall network capacity of the highway and how it ties into the development and future needs of the area.”

Infrastructure Manager with Alberta Transportation Danny Jung says a public information session is set for later this month, where they will be presenting options and recommendations for future work on that stretch of highway.

“It will show a potential for six lanes, section improvements, access management, closing of accesses possibly and relocating them somewhere else or upgrading accesses, possible signalization of intersections.

The public session is set for June 20th from 4-8 p.m. in the ballroom of the Ramada Inn in Clairmont.
