Crash in Dawson Creek leads to pursuit, arrest

Dawson Creek RCMP arrested one of the drivers after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning led to a pursuit.
 
Police say at around 8:30 a.m. BC time, a pickup t-boned another pickup.
 
No one was hurt in the collision.
 
When police tried to approach one of the drivers, he tried to run away, but not before pulling the other driver out of their truck and assaulting them. The suspect then drove away, despite police efforts to stop him. A pursuit ensued.
 
A short time later, the driver abandoned his truck and took off on foot. The police dog tracked him down in some tall grass. The suspect still tried to resist police and became what they call “combative .” He did suffer some minor injuries but was taken in.
 
Charges are pending.
