New County of Grande Prairie Fire Chief

The County of Grande Prairie has announced its new fire chief.

Dan Verdun will be taking over the role from Trevor Grant.

“Dan has been with the County since the expansion of the Regional Fire Service in 2010 and brings a wealth of experience to the position,” said County of Grande Prairie CAO Bill Rogan. “Dan is dedicated to his team and to the County and has demonstrated his commitment to continually improving our Regional Fire Service.”

Verdun has been serving as Deputy Fire Chief for the county and has 23 years of service under his belt including time spent on Vancouver Island and has received an Exemplary Service Medal for 20 years of service.

“I am proud of what our Regional Fire Service has accomplished and am excited to

continue my career with the County of Grande Prairie in this new role,” said Verdun. “We will continue to work collaboratively with our partners and with the support of County Council to provide the best service possible to our residents.”

He will assume his new position as of Monday.
