Different route for Canada Day parade

With construction on the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes project well underway, organizers of this year’s Canada Day parade have drawn up a new route. 
 
The parade will still start on 94th street near Hillside school. 
 
Instead of heading downtown like in previous years, the parade will head up to 108th Avenue. The convoy will go across to 105th street, eventually ending at the Leisure Centre and Legion Field. 
 
The parade begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 1. There are close to 100 floats entered.
 
The theme for this year’s Canada Day parade is “Proud to Be Canadian”.
