UCP Grande Prairie founding meeting Thursday

Jun 28, 2018 | 7:22 AM

The Founding General Meeting of the Grande Prairie United Conservative Party Constituency Association is Thursday.

The new electoral boundaries were changed this past winter.

Jeff Henwood, the Party’s Director of Political Operations, says the board will be created that consists of up to 30 directors including a president and secretary.

“I think you want to have a good solid foundation for every constituency and Grande Prairie is no exception.”

Anyone in attendance can be nominated for the board but individuals have to be an active party member for the past 21 days to vote.

So far Tracy Allard and John Lehners are vying for the party nomination as UCP candidate in the riding but Henwood says they are still accepting nominations.

“They should submit an email to nominations@unitedconservative.ca and we will send them the rules and an application package and anything else they need to make a decision.”

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn and Suites 10405-117 Street Grande Prairie.

The founding meeting for the Grande Prairie-Wapiti riding happened earlier this month.
