The numbers are in from the first annual Share It Forward event held by the Save On Foods outlet in Grande Prairie.
From June 14th to 16th, 25 percent of net proceeds from every Western Family product sold was earmarked for the local food bank.
According to local store manager Melissa Gavin, close to five thousand dollars worth of Western Family products were sold, meaning they were able to present a cheque of $1400 to the local food bank, run by the Salvation Army.
In addition, they were also able to donate fifteen hundred pounds of food, thanks in large part to donations from their customers.
