How many dogs are too many for one person to handle in YYC?

A city councillor in Calgary is asking administration to explore how many dogs are too many for one person to handle.

Calgary’s pet bylaws will be rewritten over the next year, and Sean Chu has asked administration to research dog-walking restrictions in other cities to help determine what a reasonable limit might be for local off-leash parks.

Chu says there’s no way one person can look after up to 12 dogs, noting he’s heard form a lot of residents about the issue.

Toronto’s commercial dog walkers, for example, are limited to six animals off-leash at a time in public parks.
