A Grande Prairie woman is one of eight people charged after RCMP searched two homes in the Town of Fox Creek.

Two loaded guns, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, drug packaging materials, and $11,460 in cash was turned up on July 4. RCMP, Police Dog Services, and the Western Alberta Rural Crime Reduction Unit were involved in the search.

Twenty-seven-year-old Virginia Rae Ackles of Grande Prairie is facing 14 charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and failure to comply with recognizance. Ackles has been remanded into custody and will appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on July 16, 2018.

The other seven charged are from Fox Creek. Eighteen-year-old Zachary Ashmore, 27-year-old Kit Mihaljevic, 27-year-old Samantha Alley, 28-year-old Matthew Roberti, 32-year-old Brock Hillborg, 35-year-old Matthew Edmund Duffy, and 36-year-old Christopher Leigh Doucette are facing multiple counts.

Ashmore, Mihaljevic, Alley, Duffy, and Roberti are set to appear in Fox Creek Provincial Court on July 23, 2018. An arrest warrant has been issued for Hillborg.

Roberti is also one of four people arrested after an ALERT bust in late January in Grande Prairie where police broke up what they call a dial-a-dope operation.

Cocaine, GHB, other drugs, weapons, and cash were seized. Roberti is facing 11 charges in connection with that arrest.

All four have a preliminary hearing set for March 11, 2019.
