County of Grande Prairie hires District Fire Chief

The County of Grande Prairie and Town of Sexsmith have looked to the BC Peace to fill their newly created District Fire Chief position. 
 
Dale Widsten is currently fire chief with the Charlie Lake department near Fort St John, and will assume his new duties as of August 7th. 
 
His duties will include managing the Sexsmith fire department administration and operations, along with providing support to County fire stations in Bezanson, La Glace and Teepee Creek

A member of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, Widsten will also work with the County’s Regional Fire Service to assist with planning, operations, and training.
