Smoke from northern wildfires moving into Peace Region

Although the wildfire hazard in the Grande Prairie forest management area is currently at low, the province is cautioning residents about smoke coming into the region.
 
They say the smoke is from wildfires burning in Yukon, Alaska, and as far away as Russia.  .
 
They add smoke concentrations will vary widely with changing temperature and wind conditions.
 
A Heat warning is in place for the Grande Prairie region.
