County Fire Crews respond to Oilfield Battery Fire

At approximately 5:23 p.m., the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service responded to a report of an oilfield battery on fire caused by lightning on Township Road 714 and Range Road 45 between Bezanson and Clairmont.

County fire crews arrived on the scene and confirmed was contained to the site.

Private industrial fire control companies are currently on the scene to distinguish the fire on the lease site.

There is no danger at this time, but the public is asked to avoid the area.
