Aug 6, 2018 | 6:20 AM

The City of Grande Prairie has a number of events planned for Alberta’s 44th Heritage Day.

Carla Wells, Program and Event Manager, says celebrations kick off at 11:00 a.m. and run till 4:00 p.m. today in Muskoseepi Park.

“At the Amphitheatre we are going to have cultural performers, dancers, all sorts of things happening on our stage including drummers and French-Canadian entertainers, lots of different things. There will be cultural vendors as well as a whole bunch of food venders.”

At the Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers, in the Community Room will be a Kermesse says Wells.

“The cultural exchange has items of art and culture and all different things from different heritages that will be shared with the participants.”

Then from noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village there will be storytellers, candle making and old-fashioned races among the numerous activities.
