Woman involved in non-profit sector for over three decades honoured Wednesday
A woman who has worked for many years in Grande Prairie’s non-profit sector has been recognized for her work in getting the Sex Trade Offender Program started.
The program was created to reduce harm inflicted via the sex trade.
PACE Executive Director Jacquie Aitken-Kish is being called a driving force behind getting this program operational.
“There are so many good people in this community that are working to deal with abuse. Our needs are too high. When you start looking at things like sexual abuse and intimate partner violence there are higher rates in northern rural communities.”
