Aug 20, 2018 | 1:39 PM

A 28-year-old from Edmonton is facing several charges after a vehicle they were driving went through a fence and caused a gas leak.

On Saturday at around 4:45 p.m., RCMP responded to the report of the leak in the South Patterson area of Grande Prairie. In a media release, police say the vehicle went through a fence, crashed into a house and damaged a gas meter. The broken meter was releasing gas which resulted in the evacuation of the area. The area was also closed to the public. When ATCO arrived, they fixed the leak.

The driver was unharmed but faces several charges under the Traffic Safety Act.
