Sour gas plant proposed near Saskatoon Mountain

Aug 31, 2018 | 7:23 AM

There are plans for a sour gas plant project near Saskatoon Mountain in the County of Grande Prairie.

The proposal comes from CSV Midstream Solutions.

Company CEO Daniel Clarke says they are looking for as much community input as possible.

“Our infrastructure is going to be here for decades and so our vision and our view is that we want to be an aggregator of not just the producing community that’s going to come and go but the greater community, the landowners, the residents so that they have a place to go to say hey there’s challenges, there’s issues and focus.”

A recent open house was attended by dozens of community members with issues of noise, air quality and traffic brought up.

Clarke says they are also going to set up a non-profit community-based organization.

“We can create a non-profit organization that allows the community to come in and form membership, form leadership and then associated to it is a portion of the revenue that is generated through our infrastructure that is directed towards that organization.”

The project would be near Range Road 92 and Township Road 730 with construction to start next June.
