UPDATE: September 4th: Frost advisory ended

September 3rd: Grande Prairie and area are under a frost advisory.

Environment Canada issued the alert 3:26 p.m. Monday and includes Beaverlodge, Hythe, Demmit, Wembley, Sexsmith and La Glace in the County of Grande Prairie.

Sections in the M.D. of Greenview include DeBolt, Little Smoky, Valleyview and New Fish Creek.

According to the government agency’s website “a ridge of high pressure moving into the area will bring clearing skies and light winds. Frost is expected overnight into Tuesday morning. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
