Region’s jobless rate down

Our region’s jobless rate is down for the second consecutive month to sit at 5.2 per cent in September.

August’s unemployment rate was 5.9 per cent and was 6.7 in June.

Grande Prairie is included in the region that stretches from Jasper to Peace River.

Statistics Canada reports Alberta’s unemployment rate went up from 6.7 per cent in August to 7 per cent in September while the national jobless rate edged lower to 5.9 per cent.
