BC Peace Communities Elect New Municipal Councils

Dale Bumstead has been re-elected as the mayor of Dawson Creek, garnering 85 percent of the votes.
 
Meanwhile former area MLA Blair Lekstrom was elected to one of the six council spots in the Mile zero city, joining  incumbents Shaely Wilbur, Paul Gevatkoff and Charlie Parslow as well as newcomers Jerimy Earl and Amy Kaempf. 
 
In other districts, Allen Courtoreille is the new mayor in Chetwynd, Rob Fraser returns as mayor in Taylor, and Keith Bertrand beat incumbant Don McPherson and two other challengers to become the new mayor of Tumbler Ridge. 
 
Lori Ackerman and Lorraine Michetti were acclaimed back into the mayor’s seat in Fort St John and Pouce Coupee respectively.
