Halloween festivities in and around the city

Halloween festivities are taking place in and around Grande Prairie this weekend.

Saturday morning is the Downtown Association’s annual Halloween Walking Parade. The line-up starts at 11 a.m., judging at 11:15 and the walk starts at 11:30.

Starting at noon Saturday the City of Grande Prairie is hosting its annual Halloween Spooktacular and Haunted House in Muskoseepi Park at the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion.  For $5 kids can decorate cookies, play games and visit the haunted house which has three eerie levels. 

At Safety City children can trick or treat from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Among the activities, there will be a Be-Witching dance and witchy crafts. The cost is $2/child.

Safe trick-or-treating also takes place at the Grande Prairie Farmer’s Market.

Saturday night at the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre is a youth dance party open to the community. 

In Wembley Saturday the Firefighters are hosting their annual free pumpkin carving event at noon and that runs until there are no pumpkins left. 

Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at McNaught Homestead outside of Beaverlodge is the Ghost Walk, entry is by donation.

Also, Friday and Saturday from 7-10 p.m. at Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park is the 4th Annual Grovedale Haunted House Halloween Haunt
