Edmonton man killed in Grande Prairie hit and run
A 26-year old man from Edmonton died in a two-vehicle crash Monday night and police are looking for the other driver.
Grande Prairie RCMP say at they got a call at 10:18 p.m. about the crash at the intersection of 68 Avenue and 100 Street. A Ford F350 truck had collided with a small Volkswagen.
The man in VW died. The man driving the other vehicle ran away on foot.
An eyewitness tells EverythingGP that the truck went through a red light and hit a car making a right turn. Both vehicles went over the centre meridian.
Police say the F350 had been stolen October 15.
Before the crash, Mounties had tried to pull the truck over along 116 Street, but it took off instead of stopping.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian, male wearing black clothing. He may have an injured arm as well as other injuries.
Police Dog Services were called in, but could not track him down.
