Lest We Forget: Several Remembrance Day events on today
We salute our veterans on this Remembrance Day.
Revolution Place will host one of two ceremonies. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m., the service will start at 10:45 with the moment of silence at 11 a.m.
The other ceremony will take place at the Jubilee Park Cenotaph, starting at 10:45 a.m.
The Grande Prairie Museum also marking Remembrance Day.
The Museum and South Peace Regional Archives have set up a military exhibit that includes what they are calling a poppy tree. It is made up of soldier’s identification tags. People can pick a tag and find that soldier’s memorial page on the Archives website. The IDs of 100 soldiers, about 10 percent of those from here who served in World War I, are included.
The Museum, Archives, and Legion have teamed up on a display of photos to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
There is no admission charge at the Grande Prairie Museum.
