Nov 13, 2018 | 10:29 AM

Two people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder and forcible confinement after a man was shot in Dawson Creek earlier this month.

RCMP were called to reports of shots fired at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2 near the intersection of the Alaska Highway and 17 Street. When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

After an investigation, police arrested and charged 22-year-old Ghislain Cormier and 20-year-old Chase Schwab. On top of the two charges, they are facing multiple firearms-related offences.

Cormier and Schwab remain in police custody. They will appear in court today.

RCMP believe this was targeted and have no information that suggests that there is a risk to the public.

Dawson Creek RCMP are seeking information from anyone that may have witnessed the incident to call the Dawson Creek RCMP at 1-250-784-3700 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS.
