Freezing rain makes for treacherous driving conditions

We are hearing reports that roads are in very poor condition around Grande Prairie. 

A caller to our newsroom tells us there has been a collision near the Bear Creek Golf Course. 

Motorists are reporting roads in the Clairmont area, specifically Range Road 54, are extremely icy. 

Another caller tells us the Crystal Landing area in Grande Prairie is very icy and her vehicle was going sideways at one point.

We have also heard some businesses in Beaverlodge were sending their employees home early due to safety concerns. 

Icy runways have forced the Fairview Airport to close until further notice.

Please drive safely and let us know what’s happening out there when it’s safe to do so.
