GP rent up and vacancy down: CMHC

The average rent has gone up in Grande Prairie, while the vacancy rate has dropped, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing.
 
CMHC says the average rent in Grande Prairie in October this year was $1,056 compared to $951 in October last year.
 
The vacancy rate fell to 3.6 percent from 4.9 percent.
 
For bachelor suites, the average rent climbed to $806 from $730 while the vacancy rate fell by more than half, to 2.9 percent from 6 percent.
 
For one bedroom apartments, the average rent went to $943 from $845. The vacancy rate dropped to 2.8 percent from 5.1 percent.
 
The average rent for a two-bedroom place is now at $1,122 up from $1,012. The vacancy rate dropped to 3.7 percent from 4.9 percent.
