Santa Claus makes 11th visit to QEII

Shortly after 10 a.m. today the QEII Hospital had a special visitor.
 
Santa Claus was flown in by a STARS helicopter to spend some quality time with patients and give away teddy bears and candy canes.
 
“The reindeer like having a few days off before Christmas,” said Saint Nick. “We’re just getting them in shape, they’re hitting the gym and the nice people at STARS offered us the big red helicopter.”
 
Santa says this is his eleventh year in a row making a stop at the QEII prior to Christmas.
 
“Well, we like to visit the children first, then we like to make our rounds and visit the people who have been here for quite some time. We’re trying to get to all the big boys and girls too.”
 
Saint Nick adds he’s just as popular with the elderly at the hospital as he is with the children.
 
The teddy bears and candy canes that were given away during Santa’s visit were donated by staff from Revolution Auto Group. This is the company’s eleventh year holding this event.
