RCMP arrest suspect in Sunday armed robbery

Grande Prairie RCMP have laid more than two-dozen charges in connection with several incidents, including an armed robbery Sunday.
 
The charges against 32-year-old Awale Yusif Abdi of Grande Prairie include robbery, assault with a weapon, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
 
He was arrested Wednesday at around 5 a.m. and is due in court January 2.
 
On Sunday, RCMP say a young man was getting something out of a parked car near 107 Avenue and 109 Street.
 
A man came up to him, pulled out a weapon and demanded the car keys before driving off in that same vehicle.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
