Eager shoppers up early for Boxing Day deals in Grande Prairie
The early bird gets the worm, but does the early dad get the best deal on a new iPhone?
Bargain shoppers and those with Christmas cash to spend were up extra early this morning looking for local Boxing Day deals.
Everything GP spoke with one eager parent who told our newsroom he’s no stranger to getting a deal on Boxing Day.
“Depending on what you want to buy, you’ve got to get here early,” he said. “Today I am standing in line as long as it takes to get two of my kids each a new phone.”
Some stores in Grande Prairie were open earlier today to accommodate the extra shopping traffic.
If you were hoping to make some returns today, you may have to wait a day or two.
With Christmas now over, it’s time to figure out what to do with those gifts that don’t fit, aren’t quite right, or you just plain don’t like.
Experts say if you need to make an exchange, when and how you do it can make a big difference in the result.
Retailers recommend making sure you have a gift receipt, and bring it back early, although maybe not while stores are still packed with post-Christmas bargain hunters.
Some stores do not do exchanges or returns on Boxing Day as it’s just too busy with all the sales.
