Cars for Christmas fundraiser tickets on sale until 9 tonight

If you were waiting until the last minute to buy your Cars for Christmas tickets, you have until just 9 p.m.
 
Today is the last day to get tickets and Dave Cook, Chair of the Swan City Rotary Club’s lottery says with this lottery fundraiser, you give back to the community and you’ve got a chance at some really great prizes.
 
“Well the cool one obviously is the Alfa Romeo car, that’s number one, and then there’s a Dodge 1500 half tonne, which is second prize,” he said. “The 50-50 is sitting at right now just shy of $238,000.”
 
Eight community partners help the club sell tickets and last year from the money the Swan City Rotary club made off of the lottery, they contributed funding to more than 50 local charities throughout the year.
 
“You win either way, give back to the community and you’ve got a chance at a really great prize, you can’t lose – win, win,” he said.
 
Cook says they are slightly behind last year’s pace for ticket sales but organizers expect it to be another successful lottery.
 
Tickets are available online at carsforchistmas.com, by calling 1-888-217-1888 or by visiting their kiosk at Prairie Mall (across from Dollarama).
 
The draw will take place on January 16 at 2 p.m.
 
“And as soon as we know the winners we will be phoning them up and we will be posting the unofficial list on Facebook,” he said.
