Three injured in explosion, Grande Prairie RCMP investigating

Jan 18, 2019 | 6:24 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP say three people were injured in an explosion Friday afternoon at an oil and gas facility south of the city.

Mounties say it happened around 2:30 p.m. in a compression building located at a site west of Musreau Lake.

The three were working nearby. Police say they were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

RCMP continue to investigate.

Police add there are no concerns for public safety and because it happened in a remote place, there should not be any delays on the roads.

Occupational Health and Safety has confirmed they are aware of the incident and are investigating.
