Multiple collisions on Highway 1 near Calgary

RCMP in Alberta say Highway 1 west of Calgary is moving in both directions after bad weather contributed to multiple collisions and spinouts yesterday.

At one point there were up to 40 vehicles in the ditch due to snow and icy roads and the highway was blocked at Dead Mans Flats for hours.

Eight people, including three children, were sent to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
