Vipers & Navigators look to bounce back in Game 2’s

Feb 22, 2019 | 6:39 AM

The 1st round of the North West Junior Hockey League playoffs resumes Friday night with a pair of Game 2’s on tap.

In Sexsmith, the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers host the JDA Kings.

The Vipers are looking to even up their best of five series with the Kings following a 5-1 loss Tuesday night at the County Sportsplex.

“We expect a push from them,” said Kings Head Coach Kyle Chapple. “They’re a team that works really hard and we know we got to match their intensity going into their rink. I’m sure they don’t want to go down 2-0, so we expect them to bring their best game tonight.”

Elsewhere, the North Peace Navigators are in Fairview to battle the Flyers.

Fairview stole home ice advantage Wednesday with a 6-5 win in overtime in Game 1 in Peace River.

Both games are set for 8:00 p.m. puck drops.
