Feb 23, 2019 | 8:36 AM

Exactly one week after she qualified her way into the 2019 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Casey Scheidegger and her wild card rink saw their hopes of making the playoff round at the Canadian women’s curling cvhampionship dashed.

Scheidegger, who’s rink includes Grande Prairie natives Cary-Anne McTaggart and Kristie Moore, fell 9-8 in an extra end to Alberta champ Chelsea Carey in their final round robin game.

After going 6-1 in preliminary round play, team Scheidegger went just 1-3 in the next round to finish at 7-4, and in fifth place, just out of the page playoffs,

Carey will face Saskatchewan in the 1-2 page playoff gamer, while Ontario and Northern Ontario will meet in the 3-4 playoff game.
