Canada Games bronze for local athlete

A Grande Prairie athlete has won a bronze medal at the Canada Games in Red Deer.
 
Michelle Grisales beat a competitor from Manitoba in one of two bronze medal matches in the 52-kilogram weight category in judo.
 
She lost her opening bout but won her next two match-ups to qualify for the medal round.
 
The 16-year-old has competed in judo for 10 years and her dad is her coach.

Another Team Alberta competitor,  Kondelia Karas of Edmonton, took silver. Quebec’s Sarah Maloum won gold.
