Kings and Navs push NWJHL 1st round series the distance

Feb 26, 2019 | 6:21 AM

Both NWJHL 1st round series are going the distance.

This after two big road wins by the JDA Kings and the North Peace Navigators Monday night.

In Sexsmith, it was the sixth seeded Vipers looking to complete the upset over the JDA Kings as they went into Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead.

However, a late goal with 2:20 remaining in the 3rd period by Kings Captain Austin Hrehoruk would lift the Kings to a 4-3 win to even the series at 2.

Game 5 of the best of five series will be played Thursday night at the County Sportsplex.

The other best of five series between the Navigators and Flyers will also need a Game 5.

The Navigators would push the series the distance with a 6-1 in Game 4.

Game 5 between the Navigators and Flyers is set for Wednesday in Peace River.
