GP resident named to Big Brother Canada cast

Feb 27, 2019 | 4:23 PM

A Grande Prairie resident has been named to the season seven Big Brother Canada cast.

Kailyn Archer is among the 14 new houseguests announced Wednesday.

Archer is a 42-year-old married mother of four. Once a flight attendant, she now works as a local psychic and is described as a strong, funny, free spirit.

A long-time fan of the show, Archer says while away, she’ll miss the company of her kids and Caribbean husband most.

She describes herself as hardworking and community oriented but those that know her best say she is an excellent cook.

Archer hopes her kitchen skills will come in handy when trying to win over her new housemates.

The new cast will feature two Edmonton natives; a radio host and a travel guide, along with a Calgary law clerk, an oil field worker from Newfoundland and famed local Kelowna hockey jock, Dane Rupert.

Contestants in the busy Big Brother house will compete for their chance to walk away with approximately $135,000 in prizes, and a trip for two anywhere in the world.

The Big Brother house is equipped with wall-to-wall camera and microphone technology to catch the contestant’s every move.

Every week, houseguests will be forced to compete in a series of challenges, which will lead them to either power or punishment within the game.

Contestants vote to kick someone out of the Big Brother house every week.

Big Brother Canada airs every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The upcoming season is set to premiere March 6.
