CP Rail freight train derails west of Banff

BANFF, Alta. – The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says 20 cars left the tracks when a Canadian Pacific Railway freight train derailed west of Banff, Alta.
The board says 10 of the cars were carrying grain and the other 10 were empty auto carriers that derailed Thursday afternoon at mile 87 of the Laggan SubDivision.
Canadian Pacific says no one was hurt and there are no public safety concerns.
The company also says there were no dangerous goods involved.
