Midget AAA Storm lose heartbreaking Game 1 in Fort Saskatchewan

If Game 1 was any indication, the Grande Peace Athletic Club Ernies Sports Midget AAA Storm could be in for another long series.

It was a tight first game, but it the Storm would end up falling 4-3 in overtime to the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers.

The Storm trailed 2-0 early in the 2nd period, but goals from Jayden Watson and Hudson Foley evened the game going into the 3rd.

Fort Saskatchewan would regain the lead 5:15 into the 3rd period, but just 26 seconds later it would be Kail Magnusson responding for the Storm to tie the game at 3.

The two clubs would head to overtime where Bryce Bader played hero for the Rangers, scoring 2:32 into the 1st overtime period to lift Fort Saskatchewan to the 4-3 win.

The Rangers now lead the best of five series 1-0.

Game 2 will be back in Grande Prairie Saturday afternoon.

Puck drop is at 3:00 p.m. from the Coca-Cola Centre.
