Mar 10, 2019 | 8:33 AM

RCMP Major Crimes Unit is asking for public assistance to locate a man who is charged with first degree murder.

The unit, along with Strathcona RCMP, have charged five men with the Sept. 13, 2018 alleged killing of Edmonton man Aldane Mesquita. His body was found late last summer in Strathcona County.

The lone suspect whom RCMP are still trying to track down is 35-year-old Christian Nyabirungu.

He is described as having black skin and is 6’2″ tall and 240 pounds. He also has black hair and brown eyes.

Nyabirungu has ties to Edmonton, AB, North Battleford, SK, and has family in Montreal.

The others charged are 33-year-old Omar Abdirizak Omar, 34-year-old Clement Fofie, 31-year-old Roger Rurangwa, and 29-year-old Mohammed Jawara. They are all residents of Edmonton.

If you come into contact with this individual, police say you should NOT approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous.
