Dave Barr and Eastlink fee changes among items on Council agenda tonight
Grande Prairie City Council will be voting on fee changes at both the Dave Barr Community Centre and Eastlink Centre at tonight’s meeting.
The proposed changes would see a slight increase in the costs of day care at the Dave Barr Community Centre, while the Eastlink Centre would see lower rates for annual (monthly and pre-paid), as well as six-month pre-paid memberships.
Council is also expected to put its support behind the Resource Communities of Canada Coalition. The motion was carried back on December 17, with council directing Mayor Bill Given to “write a letter to the Prime Minister, Premier, Alberta Senators and other appropriate officials expressing support and concern for the Peace Country energy industry and the need for approval of Alberta Pipelines…”
Changes to the Art Development Funding Guidelines will be voted on too. Changes would include that project funding for an individual project not exceed 20% of the entire budget of the project, and that the Arts Development Scholarship not exceed 20% ($1,400) of the entire yearly Scholarship Fund budget.
