Toronto Arrows named MLR’s team of the week after comeback win in San Diego

TORONTO — The expansion Toronto Arrows have been named Major League Rugby’s team of the week after reeling off 24 unanswered points in a 27-20 win at the San Diego Legion.

Teenage Canadian winger Avery Oitomen scored two tries and Mike Sheppard added another in Toronto’s second-half comeback Sunday.

Mark O’Keeffe won player of the week honours for his work in Rugby United New York’s 41-127 victory over the Utah Warriors.

Oitomen and Arrows hooker Andrew Quattrin were named to the MLR’s First XV for Week 7.
