Higson & Rockets clinging to final playoff spot in B.C division

Grande Prairie’s Schael Higson is hopeful this weekend isn’t the end of his Junior hockey career.

Higson and the Kelowna Rockets are currently holding on to the final playoff spot in the Western Hockey League’s B.C division.

However, a late season surge by the Kamloops Blazers has put some pressure on Higson’s club as they are just one point ahead of their rivals going into the final weekend of the regular season.

Kamloops will close the regular season with a home and home with the Prince George Cougars while the Rockets battle the top team in the B.C division, the Vancouver Giants.

Higson was traded from the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Kelowna Rockets prior to the WHL’s trade deadline on January 10th.

In 27 games played with the Rockets, Higson has 1 goal and 8 assists.
