Some local soccer players will be suiting up for the GPRC Wolves Women’s Soccer team next season.

The team has signed five new players for the 2019-2020 season, including two from the Swan City.

Brooke Gagnon and Raina Kickbush, both from Grande Prairie, will don Wolves colours next season. Gagnon brings a plethora of high-level playing experience to the squad, having competed in the 2017 Las Vegas Mayor’s Cup, as well as winning gold at the Jasper Bowl tournament during her high school career. Kickbush has most recently been competing for the Sherwood Park Phoenix Soccer Association, where her team won gold at the U17 Tier 2 provincials in 2018. Her team placed fifth at nationals that same seasons

Emma Close will be joining the team from Fort St. John. Close has competed in the BC Summer Games in 2016 and has made two trips with her North Peace Secondary School squad to the B.C. AAA Provincials. She also won a gold medal at the 2016 U16 Tier 3 Indoor Provincials.

Edmonton native McKenna McKeaveney has also signed on to play next season at GPRC. McKeaveney is coming off four straight trips to Provincials with the MW Selects and won an Edmonton city championship in 2018 with her High School, Austin O’Brien.

Coming all the way from Surrey, B.C. is Mikaela Balla. Balla also took part in the B.C. Summer Games in 2016 and was named Senior Girls Soccer Golden Boot winner in 2016-17. She was awarded High School Athlete of the Year that same season while playing for Earl Marriott Secondary School.

The 2019-2020 ACAC soccer season kicks off in August.
